Tired. But today was an easier day, so it worked out okay.
We went back to The Stacks this morning, to see if there was new free stuff available. We picked up a Harry Potter bag from the Scholastic booth, and a very nice woman at the Demco booth spontaneously gave Veronica a cute Gund stuffed bear. This bear was not intended as a giveaway, I think.
Oh, and a robot pushed our stroller for us.
Oh, and we met (and had books signed by) Mo Willems, Veronica's favorite author. We also got galleys of Knuffle Bunny Too, the sequel to her favorite book in the whole world!
After the Stacks, Lori met up with Lorin, Veronica and I for lunch. Au Bon Pain is closed on Sundays, so we ended up back at the Corner Bakery where we ate dinner the first night we were here. From there, Lori went back to the conference, and we went to the Building Museum.
The Building Museum was really interesting, though if you have not even the slightest interest in architecture or urban planning (like Lorin), you might find it kind of boring. They had a really nice children's area, with giant-sized magnet construction sets and even bigger foam Legos. Veronica played for about half an hour, and then conked out almost instantly upon returning to the stroller.
There were only six exhibits in the museum; my favorite of these was an exhibition of architectural art by David Macauley. Since no photography was allowed in any of the exhibits, you'll have to go here to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
After the Building Museum, we came back to the room for a while. I watched the new Doctor Who episode (yikes!) and then Lori joined us for a trip to the hotel pool, which was so chlorinated my eyes started watering when we got close. After the pool, we met up with some folks from LPL for dinner at Ella's Wood Fired Pizza, and then called it an early night.

Sounds like you guys are having a good time. If I had known in advance you were going there, I'd have called my brother to see if he could get you any passes for your trip. He's the head the DCPD's HazMat department, so he gets to go to places we don't normally have access to. Not that he would EVER take anybody to those places and jepordize the security of our national monuments. wink, nudge.
Is the season finale of Doctor Who NOT the absol-freaking-lute best so far??
